In Ocala National Forest Florida Family Vision Council
On October 24-26 for Florida Ocala Winter Gathering of the Tribes at Farles Prairie
Hello this is Flickerfeather, A report from what I observed at council.
On Friday I show up there were about 35 people and I set up my Tipi. We set up close to front of 599-A cause there were group of hunters camp at end of 599-A. by Saturday morning we had small kitchen set up and decide by Saturday After noon that we scout. And by then we had about 45 people come to council. We Scouted out a site. about 12 people scouted. The Water table was very high so any site we consider has to be account for and re look at in January to see where the water table will be at although the site we look at should not be affected by any water table. we look at the site for about 6 hours got lost in the woods kinda funny. we found our way back by a way of sister peeing in at front of a hidden trail that we had found hard to find. way back. She remember the spot where she pee at and she found this trail. A branch covered the spot at the head of this trail was and we kept walking in circles. Its was a funny moments that I be giggle for some time at myself and rest of us brother's out shine by a sister that pee on spot where we need to find. After we got back. we set in to eat dinner and talk around the fire. I myself brought few beers and meet to keep it very low profile have few beers. I really apologize for doing this and promise never to do that again. I had no interest in trying to get drunk or did not want to see anyone drink around the fire where we were to council.
But I was not the only one brought beer it the beer move out there in the evening. know one was counseling then. No beer was drink while we counseling at the Fire circle. But there was beer there. I was part of the problem but realize that I won't do that again.

Sunday morning we started to council. whistler Dave was telling everyone they had 3 minutes to say what they had to say. So that everyone could speak. The feather move around that for sure but it also was a form of censorship to me. I love Whistler Dave he great Elder and a good friend of mine but I wish that he had just relaxed a little on the 3 minutestimer gig he had. Glowing Feather had some heart songs to speak and Whistler kept attack him orally and it brought a negative part to the council. been nice if he brought up that we should speak shortly and not brought up. I feel that in a way this hurt the council because people felt pressured not speak. I myself found it hard to focus any real focus with short time limited that we had to speak. Any way there were few arguments and drama's that happen but anyway. Barry had hope that we could decide on the site in October so he move family into I guess Bus Village. I myself object because the intent of this council was to scout out a site then decide in January on a site. I object to deciding a site now because it would leave many family that on the road not a chance to have input on the site. Also we have family on site way before the gathering even happens. that I felt would be problem. So that was the only thing that was decide on that we would not consent on a site till later. We believe that we have the site already but most agree with me that we should wait till in January till decide on a site and decide with road family present.

Me and few others had brought up about the impact of having Very large Christian kitchen is having during the active dates of the gathering from Feb. 14 tru 28. me and others have started see the impact of it on our smaller Regional Gathering of having a very large Christian kitchen feed at our Front gate. Last year the kitchen was very large that it by itself could feed the whole gathering. They also had main supply and number of other kitchens hated the Jesus camp politics that went with them controlling the main supply. I guess since they were getting huge supply of donated foods that they controlling Main supply. This becomes a power game that Jesus is getting in the way of food. Food is power when your hungry. These are concerns that I was hearing last year gathering. many did not need to come into the gathering because they had all there needs being meet at front gate. I thought myself that we move into the gathering to get away from Babylon from getting away from our cars so its not so easy just run to the store get a coke or snack or unhealthy foods. That we depend on each other. I feel that I and other that have made the effort to move our kitchens into the gathering that seems really unfair we work so hard move water and sups and Christians just get into there cars drive down and get soupiest any way I was trying hope see we could have the Christian during the gathering date maybe havea kitchen inside the gathering and maybe have another at front gate where maybe they could spilt there energy up . In my mind this would be better for the Florida Gathering. But whistler 3 minute time limited hurt this explanations so there was no decision made on anything. Whistler comment that the inside of the gathering would need to draw people in because it just does. He also someone that sits at the front gate so I could see him not understanding our problems with having large kitchen sitting at front gate. there was no really consensus on anything at this council.

Really this council was meant to go scouting and try to deal with many problems of permits and bring the Florida family together early and reason to camp and have fun. All which had happen and was needed to happen to help get Florida Gathering focus. After the council was over Sunday early after noon. All the Sister walk off into the woods and had a Sister Circle. Some people start heading home. Some us brother sat chat at the fire circle and some of the brother comment after while how they were missing the Sister energy. I hope I myself can help next time make next council a little better by not bring any beer and maybe trying find way control Whistler from tell people stop people from Speaking after 3 minutes. I think that in January we gather for another council to decide with and together with Road Family and Florida Family on the site we scout out. I believe we already have the site but want everyone have voice including Road Family on this site. much love
